We set off in good spirits as the weather looked fine and we were delighted to be joined by Anne who shunned her van duties and joined the peloton.
Barbie ( Bev's bike ) was put together for Anne and off we set.
After a short(ish) climb we were treated to a 7 mile descent with spectacular views across huge vistas.
We proceeded Along the SR2 which is a road well used in the Mille Miglia , and came across this sad monument where Enrico Benini, a driver had lost his life.
Coffee stop was in the delightful village of Monteroni d'Arbia ,which did have quite a climb to get to, but was well worth it!
We then biked through the countryside with so many photo opportunities
Lunch was taken on a roundabout !! as our plotted route was not the route we needed to take, however it was a great opportunity to take some action footage of all of us going round the roundabout - looking forward to seeing that James...
Kirk managed to attract the attention of a man selling Giddeon Bibles ! which he felt we needed on the van !
The week three team posed for a photo and then we had a steady ride into Siena.
The hotel were most welcoming and advised us to go and buy cold beer down the road and bring it back as it was much cheaper.
What an amazing place Siena is , we have booked a walking tour for our rest day .
Bamboo james on the hotel balcony.
Oh I almost forgot to mention ..... the Van ......
Not a warning light in sight , now where is that piece of wood to touch !
