Day 31 Rest day Alcazar: "room with a view sir ?"
"Well it's hardly the hanging gardens of Babalon" - please see the view from the hotel room below , so we quickly decided a day out in Toledo was called for.
Our chauffeur Billy whisked us in regal comfort in the van to Toledo where we spent a very pleasant day ( except for a visit to the torture museum, where we found a device which clamped your head in a vice , while a sharp point was screwed into your cervical cord , horrified to find it was used til 1975; and no that's not a typo.)
We found a gem of a tapas bar for lunch and then wandered into a wine shop , it's quite extraordinary how the two Paul's can sniff one out from 500 meters. Wine bought and some excellent Toledo kitchen knives also bought we returned back to the hotel .
We had thought that tomorrow was to be our first day with just the four of us since day one , however Johan an old patient of mine had been following the blog and has driven up and decided to join us for two days! We were loading the van when a white car pulled up and started peeping its horn , imagine my surprise when out got Ian Giles who also had decided to join us! So we are back to a peloton of six .
Tomorrow looks like it should be very hot so we are planning an early start .
