Day 17 Mimizam to Capbreton

This was going to be a landmark day as it heralded the end of our large Peleton as many people were due to depart after today. It was also the last day in the Girond region, so the last flat day before the delights of the mountains.

The mapped route did not look very interesting and I was apprehensive about the prevailing wind.

Luckily the patron of one of the hotels pointed out that the bike trail we had been on yesterday went all the way to Capbreton, and so we were treated to some of the most beautiful riding I have ever experienced. Smooth tarmac track with no cars through woods and dunes. This enabled us to bike side by side and chat and remember Sandra . I think we all felt she was with us today in an almost palpable way. We stopped at St Girons plage and then on to Capbreton. And so the journey ended for Mark and Flo, Richard and Babs, Fred and Dawn, Ali and Emma, Ian and Dawn and mike and Bev. Over the past three days Babs, Bev and Dawn have ridden Sandra's bike and have done so with such grace and dignity - thank you.
