Day 15 Soulac sur mer to Le Porge
On paper today was not going to be great. A poor weather forecast with rain and high winds through out the day and a less than interesting route being flat and straight.
The new team of 16 riders met early and after considerable bike fettling and cramming everything in the van - which was now the fullest we have been we departed .
What a day - talk about under promising and over delivering , the weather got better and better although the wind was an issue . The route took us along the coast and then along a bike track that had a better surface than any U.K. Road . Unfortunately Dawn had a little "trip" and came off her bike so had to spend the rest of the day in the car - hopefully fine to ride today .
Many of the riders did personal bests today @ 61 miles so well done Mike and Bev Harpham , Dawn strange , Jeremy Moll , and especially Ali and Emma who did another 12 miles to get to their hotel - Emma on a bike made from scaffolding poles !
And so another great day on the tour ended in a haze of great fun comradeship and the odd celebration drinkie.
